focused on using adaptive methods to implement a pollutant reduction plan to improve the water quality in Hinkson Creek and its watershed.

Description: Join this walking tour and learn tips for maintaining your yard and stream edge to protect Hinkson Creek from the most common pollutants such as sediment and nutrients. 

Participants will visit several neighborhood locations to discuss techniques used to reduce human impact to streams including native plant landscaping, stormwater capture, herbicide use,  nutrient pollution reduction, and see what lives in a stream!

Macro Invertebrate & Water Quality Sampling Event 4/10/13

On April 10, 2013, the Department of Natural Resources started sampling Hinkson Creek. Due to heavy rains, the Department finished

sampling on 4/22/13. The Department was able to sample all 11 historic sites on Hinkson Creek for water quality parameters and macro

invertebrates
